DescriptionMills Institute began as a small boarding school for five Chinese boys in the home of Francis Williams Damon and Mary Happer Damon in 1892. The school, which quickly outgrew the Damon home on Chaplain Lane, expanded to include two larger buildings, Morrison Hall and Montague Hall. In 1908, Mills Institute moved from their downtown Honolulu location to merge with the Kawaiaha'o Seminary for girls and two other boarding schools for Japanese and Korean children to become Mid-Pacific Institute located in beautiful Manoa Valley.General NotesThis collection is a work in progress.
